چکیده

The type-II multiple quantum well (MQW) structure is prepared and introduced into green organic green light-emitting diodes consisting of 4,40-bis-[N-(naphthyl)-N-phenyl-amino]biphenyl (a-NPD) and tris-(8-hydroxyquinolinato)-aluminum (Alq3). The quantum well (QW) and wall are fabricated by 4,40 ,400-tris-(3-methylphenylphenylamino)triphenylamine (m-MTDATA) and a-NPD, respectively. The device performance of MQW organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) has been improved; the luminous efficiency by 25% and power efficiency by 17% compared with the reference device. The performance improvement can be explained by the increased electron–hole balance in the device due to the hole confinement in the QW structure. & 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Thin-film Encapsulation of Organic Light-Emitting Diodes Using Single and Multilayer Structures of MgF2, YF3 and ZnS

In this research, the lifetime of green organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) is studied using four passivation layers. To encapsulate the OLEDs, MgF2, YF3, composed of alternating MgF2/ZnS and YF3/ZnS layers were grown by thermal vacuum deposition. Measurements show that the device lifetime is significantly improved by using YF3 and ZnS as passivation layers. However, diodes encapsulated by Mg...

High-Efficiency Single-Quantum-Well Green and Yellow-Green Light-Emitting Diodes on Semipolar (20\bar{2}1) GaN Substrates

We demonstrate high-efficiency green and yellow-green single-quantum-well light-emitting diodes (LEDs) grown on semipolar (20 21) GaN substrates by metal organic chemical vapor deposition. The output power and external quantum efficiency at a driving current of 20mA under a pulsed condition with a 10% duty cycle are 9.9mW and 20.4% for the green LED and 5.7mW and 12.6% for the yellow-green LED,...

Above 20% external quantum efficiency in novel hybrid white organic light-emitting diodes having green thermally activated delayed fluorescent emitter

High efficiency hybrid type white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) combining a green thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) emitting material with red/blue phosphorescent emitting materials were developed by manipulating the device architecture of WOLEDs. Energy transfer between a blue phosphorescent emitting material and a green TADF emitter was efficient and could be managed by ...

Effect of variation of specifications of quantum well and contact length on performance of InP-based Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL)

Abstract: In this study, the effects of variation of thickness and the number of quantumwells as well as the contact length were investigated. In this paper, a vertical cavity surfaceemitting laser was simulated using of software based on finite element method. Thenumber of quantum wells was changed from 3 to 9 and the results which are related tooutput power, resonance ...
